Relevance and Engagement are not Embellishments.

Love Learning....

Most of my work in school over the past ten years or so has been about making the curriculum relevant and engaging to children. Those words are not very trendy at the moment. Sometimes it seems that the ‘resilience/grit’ agenda has been hijacked by people who think that those qualities are simply about tolerating boredom. They are sadly misguided. Boredom is a negative state in which learning does not take place. That’s not to say we should avoid boredom at all costs – children who are bored on a Sunday afternoon might well find something useful to do. And being in a state of mindful inactivity is a healthy thing to be. But being bored in class does not lead to learning.

Instead, we should be aiming for engaged confusion. This state, rather than outright happiness is the optimal condition for learning. The puzzled frown is not the same as…

Virat Kohli

Wishing virat Kohli a very very happy 26th birthday. Wishing him a glorious life ahead. Virat is arguably the best batsmen in the world. His passion for the game is tremendous. His technique, timing, temperament is excellent. Game awareness, backing his abilities and being aggressive is his strengths. His front foot and backfoot game is equally good. He is a very good player against spin and he is also pity good at dealing with the pace. His footwork is very decisive. His balance and head position is perfect. He picks up the length very quickly. He is very quick between the wickets. He can adopt to any conditions. His cover drive and flick through mid wicket shots are my favourites. He can play the cut and pull very well which helps him playing in foreign conditions. His conversion rate is up with the best. He values his wicket and scores big hundreds. He is a brilliant fielder. Above all he is a great team man. Virat  is a natural leader and he will be very successful as captain in future.                       Once again wishing virat lots of runs and loads of happiness. Stay awesome as ever!!!

Memories

Going down the memory lane is an emotional experience. It’s a mixed feeling. You feel happy with some memories and feel  very sad with some. At times you feel it’s better we have selective memory loss but life doesn’t goes like that. We had to take everything equally. Happiness and sorrows are part of the life.                                     Going to the childhood memories for every kid mother is the first and best friend. We spend most of the time with the mother. Mother is the first and real truth we come across. Those childhood days with my mother is the best memories I had ever had. My mother is a very innocent and a kind person. She has taught me many values and she is everything to me. kindness, honesty, helping others, self confidence, being mentally strong are the values cannot be taught in any school. We can only learn those from our parents only. My mother has spent all her life to make us happy. She had made lots of sacrifices for us. She had faced many tough situations with a smile on her face.                                       There might be an alternative to the God but there is no alternative to the Mother.

Why don’t mosquitoes spread Ebola?

Mosquito Research and Management

13717624625_cd5f3df570_zAuthorities are quick to remind the community that Ebola virus is spread by blood and bodily fluids so it is hardly surprising that many are asking, “can mosquitoes spread Ebola”?

The 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa is the largest in history. As of mid-October, there have been approximately 9,000 cases and 4,500 deaths. The World Health Organisation warned that the infection rate could reach 5000 to 10000 new cases a week by the end of the year.

The virus is primarily transmitted from sick to healthy people by blood or body fluids (including but not limited to urine, saliva, sweat, feces, vomit, breast milk, and semen). In addition, objects contaminated with the virus (including needles and syringes) and direct contact with infected animals also play a role. Given this knowledge, it is not an unreasonable question to ask if blood feeding mosquitoes could spread the virus from infected…

Of Opinions

Yes, you knew this was coming. If you have been reading this blog for a while, or subscribed to it many moons ago and cannot understand why, take a Deep Breath. I shall answer all your queries. All I need is one blog post where I explain to you one preposition. A preposition that has been holding this entire monstrosity together. A preposition that is akin to Achilles’ heel, one that is liable to tear things apart, even as it grounds them. I am only talking about little, old Of.

Lately, I’ve been telling people about my blog. I didn’t want to, when I was in the thick of blogging newbie ecstasy. When I felt what I was doing was important. That it was changing me for the better and that it was touching lives. Five people liked a post? Hurray! There is hope for humanity after all…
